Meet the Director

John Colbourne, PhD FRSB

John specialises in genomics for the protection of both human health and the environment. He is known internationally for establishing model species as hazard indicators and platforms for understanding and classifying chemicals based on their biomolecular modes of action. John also holds the Chair of Environmental Genomics at the University of Birmingham. He advises the UK government by his membership of the Hazardous Substances Advisory Committee and also coordinates the EU Commission funded PrecisionTox project.
